HERE’S HOW:
I. Confirm your nominee as a potential NOWLeader using the NOWLeaders Portfolio Checklist as your guide.
The checklist below is a tool to help you focus and facilitate your thinking when considering the person you wish to nominate. It is a worksheet only and need not be submitted with your nomination. It contains:
- A brief description of the characteristics and practices that NOW Leaders typically and consistently demonstrate.
- A space for the assignment of a rating between 1 and 10 next to each characteristic, (1 being low; 10 being high). This is to help you bring some focus to your thoughts. It is not a scientific rating system and is not weighted in any way as to the importance of each characteristic.
- A Memory Jogger space for you to jot down your thoughts or ‘trigger’ words as you consider your nominee and any stories that come to mind that will help you demonstrate his or her NOW leadership ability and practices.
Here’s how to use it:
- Please review and consider all of the qualities and skills listed, with your nominee firmly in mind.
- Rate each and then determine your average rating by dividing your total rating by the number of qualities listed.
- Jot down any ideas, memories or thoughts about your nominee as you go along.
And then:
If your average rating is less than 7, you may wish to review your checklist to ensure you have not missed anything. Otherwise, while you may have a budding NOW leader, it is possible that s/he is not quite ready to be publically recognized as such.
If, on the other hand, your average rating is 7 or higher, you are definitely on the right track toward shining some light on a NOWLeader…now! So please move on to:
II. Tell us a Story about your NOWLeader nominee
The next part of the process is simple. Tell us a story of your NOW Leader nominee, by responding to the questions posed on the NOWLeader Portfolio NOMINATION, using the information you have captured on your checklist as your guide.
